Scenario 1: You’re on a date at an elegant restaurant with an absolutely gorgeous man. You may be thinking, how could this possibly be bad?

Then he opens his mouth and begins to talk and talk and talk, not about something deeply profound or even relatively interesting, but about himself. He doesn’t ask about you once or show interest in anything other than what makes him so great.

Every time he takes a breath you try to jump in, but it’s no use, he just talks right over you. You get so tired of hearing his voice you just want to yell, “SHUT UP!” But of course being the polite lady that you are, you smile and nod, enabling this conceited motormouth to continue rambling.

The Plan: Since you know by now that he’s got a great job, you can allow yourself to take advantage of this information. How about enjoying anything on the menu? Next, order a few cocktails. This will not only allow you to tolerate him, but you might find some humor in the situation as well. Eventually this nightmare will end and you will never have to speak to this date, or should I say hear him speak, again.

Scenario 2: You’re with a guy with whom you seem to connect and feel comfortable almost instantly. He does and says all the right things to make you believe that he is such a sweet guy. Then you notice him glance at a woman passing by. Okay, no big deal, right?

Throughout the night you see him checking out other women. Even when the two of you are in the middle of what seems to be a great conversation, his eyes just continue to wander.

The Plan: At some point, excuse yourself to go outside for some fresh air. On your way there, find a sexy guy to flirt with. Have fun, exchange numbers, but don’t stay too long.

Then return to your date and occasionally make eye contact with your new friend. If you’re date mentions your behavior, just innocently tell him that you thought that it was okay to admire those of the opposite sex since he seemed to do it so well. If this doesn’t wake him up at least you’ve got another option for later.

Scenario 3: You are out on a date with a guy who clearly has no kind of home training. He acts as if he were raised by wild monkeys. You think to yourself, is he serious? Does he really burp as loudly as humanly possible, shovel food into his mouth while talking, and suck and pick at his teeth when he’s done with his meal? You’ve got to be kidding me; this has to be some sort of prank.

As these questions run through your mind you feel as if everyone is watching and wondering what’s wrong with you. The feeling of embarrassment makes you blush and want to sink under the table.

The Plan: This situation may call for some seriously drastic measures. Very discreetly pull out your cell phone and text your friend 911. Use this code because it’s quick and easy. Once your girl sees the message she will know that you need to be called immediately.

As soon as you get the call act as if your friend is going through some sort of crisis and needs you by her side right now. Tell your date that you’re sorry you can’t enjoy his lovely company anymore and that he has definitely made it a memorable night.

I know there are many more nightmare date scenarios, but this gives you a basic idea of what you can do with almost any bad date.

Two young couples go on vacation to Mexico for 7 days. The girls are best friends and the guys are their boyfriends. They are having a great time meeting new people, partying, sightseeing, laying on the beach, etc.

On the very last day of their visit, there is a huge beach party for the hotel guests. Everyone is intoxicated, dancing around the bonfire, swimming in the ocean and just enjoying their last day in paradise.

One of the girls, from the couples, gets so drunk that she can’t even stay standing. She repeatedly falls to the floor but she is in good spirits, laughing and dancing the whole time. Her boyfriend suggests that they call it a night since she was clearly out of it; she insists on staying at the party with the other couple. So the boyfriend goes to the hotel room alone and leaves her at this crazy party.

Seconds after the drunk girl’s boyfriend leaves, she is hanging all over a foreign guy who is at this party. She’s dancing with him, touching him, and eventually kisses him. The girl’s best friend finally stops her from going any further.

My question is:

If the drunk girl were to go “all the way” with this foreign guy at the party who’s to blame? And should she be forgiven?

Now it may seem as if there’s a simple answer. But let’s think about this… The boyfriend, who should be looking out for his girlfriend, saw her drunk out of her mind and instead of insisting that she go with him, left her there. And of course, there’s the fact that the girl is grown and should take responsibility for herself and her actions.

Thank goodness her best friend was there otherwise who knows what would have happened.

This brings me to another question:

If your significant other is stupid drunk, would you leave them to fend for themselves, or would you insist they come with you?

What’s your favorite?

Whether you are a die-hard MJ fan, a critic, or caught somewhere in between, you have never really and truly known the man behind the music until now. His new movie This Is It will bring forth so many mixed emotions. People in the audience were laughing, crying, dancing, clapping, shouting, and even silenced in amazement and awe.

The Man

We all know that Michael will forever be the “King of Pop” but many of us didn’t know him outside of MJ the performer or what we saw in the media. Majority of us have never got to know the true essence of his being.

I was born in the 80′s so I grew up with Michael just like most of us have (some longer than others) and after watching the movie I realized that I never knew him as a real person. He was always an amazing performer with an “out of this world” ability to create musical magic, but that’s it. I thought that was all there was to him. Boy, was I wrong!

This Is It showed MJ’s other sides. You will see that he is much more than who we have come to know and love. You will see first hand how he possessed the amazing ability to guide and inspire others with such love and compassion.

The extremely talented artists around him, such as the dancers, musicians, directors, etc., were so grateful just to be in his presence to gain just an ounce of MJ’s musical genius. I’ve always admired MJ and his gift from God but I was honored to see this side to him that has never been shown to the world until now.

The Movie

This show was to be Michael’s big grand comeback and finale performance all in one. You would think that with this show, being such a huge deal and a stressful environment, Michael would be cursing people out, yelling, throwing a fit, and acting all diva-ish. Wrong! He took his time to get his point across with patience and understanding. Now how many of us act out of love in a high stress environment?

One of my favorite quotes from the movie was when MJ was in a situation where he was trying to get his musicians to get his song right and he said “…bathe in the moonlight and just let it simmer…” Lol, who talks like that to get their musicians to be on the same page with them? But sure enough, the keyboardist got it. Another quote to remember was when he had to repeatedly ask someone to make changes and instead of getting upset with the person he simply said “…it’s all out of love, L-O-V-E…”

Michael continuously demonstrated how talented and creative he still was. This dude had so much energy, stage presence, and his classic dance moves were still on point, you would never be able to guess his age.

I was reminiscing while dancing and singing in my seat. I really wanted to get up and move all over the theater because I felt as if I was at a Michael Jackson concert, but I’m sure my fellow movie goers may not have liked that

The Critics

Michael had to have a very strong spirit to be the sensitive person I saw in the movie and have to deal with how the media, along with others, were constantly ridiculing him and trying to bring him down. He had so much to combat from his home life as a child up until his untimely demise.

Sometimes we put people so high up on a pedestal that we forget that they are human just like us. We feel so far removed from them that we lose sight of the fact that they have feelings and a normal life outside of the public’s image.

The Future

One thing I can say for certain is that Michael Jackson has left his mark on the world that will eternally flourish through you, through me, through our children and our childrens’ children. His lyrics contained powerful messages that were meant to uplift humanity and bring us all together.

He is alive in the hearts of so many that he will be missed, yet never truly gone. I can attest to this because my 3-year-old daughter is a 5th generation fan in my family and I know it won’t stop with her. This Is It makes me sincerely miss him now, even more than ever.

Be prepared to sing along, move to the beat, see and hear remixes of old classics, and get to know the real man behind the music we all have come to know as Michael Jackson the Legendary King of Pop.

Most commonly best friends don’t like the boyfriend because:

1. They Are Jealous- plain and simple jealousy. She wants what you have and doesn’t want you to have it. If this is the case she is not your BFF for life she is a hater and needs to be disposed of immediately.
2. You Neglect Your BFF- sometimes when women get boyfriends they get so caught up in the relationship that they forget about everyone else around them. They don’t acquire the skill of how to manage time between the boyfriend and others such as the BFF. Stop to think if this may be you. If it is, the simple solution is to include your best friend in your life don’t push her away because if things don’t work out who’s shoulder will you be crying on?
3. She’s Trying to Protect You- maybe there are negative things your BFF knows about your boyfriend that she has failed to share with you. Maybe this is because she thinks you may not believe her or maybe she heard some sort of rumor. This is what BFF’s are for, to help you see things you can not when you’re blinded by love. Maybe her thoughts are valid check him out and observe him for yourself. Although he is great today, tomorrow he can be completely different.
4. He is Rude and Disrespects Your BFF- when the two of them are together does he put her down, tell jokes about her that she doesn’t find amusing, yell at her, call her names or any other behaviors that would make her feel uncomfortable? If this is the case you need to drop that man no questions asked, period.
5. He is a Bad Influence On You- have you changed who you are to fit in with him? Did you lose your identity and pick up his? Think about the things that you did before you were with him and the things you’ve been doing since you have been together. Have you become a better person or worse? You should never change who you are or your values for anyone, especially for a man. Keeping you self-respect is key in life and you don’t want to lose sight of that.
6. He’s a Bum- this guy is just a good for nothing waste of space. He eats all your food, stays at your house rent free, drives your car since he doesn’t have one of his own, barely works, spends your money and who knows what else. Some women enjoy being caregivers if this is you, so be it. But understand that your BFF wants the best for you and she, nor I, can see how this adds to your life. A relationship should be something that is uplifting and not a burden. Your partner needs to bring something to the table otherwise he will continue to take things from that table. Decide what you want and ask your BFF to respect your decision.
